The fourth meeting of the Advisory Committee that governs SME Impact Fund (SIF) will be conducted in Arusha on 31st October in Arusha, Tanzania. It is the first time since the inception of SIF that the AC meets in Tanzania. Most AC members will arrive on Wednesday 29th October and they will visit a few SIF clients and prospects on Thursday 30th October.
The meeting on Friday 31st of October is of great significance, as the Fund performance will be discussed. The Fund management model has been overhauled and the projections have been adjusted based on the experiences of the first year. The learning curve has been extremely steep and many invaluable insights were gained. It is now feasible to be much more realistic about the impact and returns of the Fund.
In addition to the AC members, another investor who happens to be in Tanzania but not member of AC, will also attend the meeting as observer. This is a result of the investors’ trip that is organized in the same week (see for more news – investors’ trip).
